On February 25th, Usina Caeté – Unidade Paulicéia conducted an institutional visit to the Dracena Home for the Elderly, a project of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, with the aim of learning firsthand about the work carried out by the institution and understanding the main needs related to the care of the elderly residents.
The visit was conducted by the Human Resources Coordinator, Ane Caroline Paes, who observed the organization’s activities and reinforced the company’s commitment to social responsibility initiatives and community support.
Founded in 1968 and housed in its own building, this philanthropic, non-profit organization plays an essential role in the Dracena community. Currently, the home houses 36 elderly people of both sexes, aged 60 and over, on a full-time basis.
“During the visit, it was possible to see the commitment, care, and respect that the entire team dedicates to the residents. The institution has 31 employees, including caregivers, general service assistants, cooks, a nutritionist, a psychologist, physiotherapists, and a social worker, ensuring humane care and continuous monitoring. The environment is organized, clean, and structured to ensure the well-being and dignity of each elderly person, many of whom have been residents for more than 15 and even 20 years,” highlighted the Human Resources coordinator.
Community support is essential.
To maintain its activities, the institution depends significantly on support from society, since government funding is not sufficient to cover all expenses.
The visit was arranged through Mr. Aparecido Salsman, a member of the Lions Club of Dracena, who will be holding a charity bingo event to benefit the institution, scheduled for March 8, 2026.
Also present at the event were Sônia Bizzi, representative of the Lions Club of Dracena, and Magda Zanatta, wife of the president and volunteer of the institution.
The nursing home is especially in need of donations of bleach and toilet paper [items in high demand for hygiene and maintenance of the environment], as well as personal hygiene and cleaning products.
Charity Campaign
Sensitive to the cause, Usina Caeté – Unidade Paulicéia embraced the initiative and will promote an internal campaign for employees to participate in the charity action, contributing to the collection of cleaning and hygiene products.
“This action reaffirms the company’s commitment to social responsibility and to strengthening institutions that play an essential role in the community,” concluded Ane Caroline Paes.
