Agricultural machinery operator Beatriz Ribeiro, from Usina Caeté, Matriz, was one of ten honorees during the V Extraordinary Women Award, promoted by the Municipal Secretariat for Women and Human Rights of São Miguel dos Campos. The ceremony took place on the evening of last Thursday (5), in the auditorium of the Desembargador José Fernando Lima Souza School, in São Miguel dos Campos (AL).
The award recognized women who excel in different fields and who contribute significantly to the development of the community of São Miguel. In total, ten honorees received public recognition for their careers and work in their respective sectors.

Beatriz Ribeiro built her professional career at Usina Caeté through the Apprenticeship program, when she enrolled in the Agricultural Mechanization course. After completing her training, she was hired by the company as a machine operator, starting her activities operating loaders and later progressing to driving heavy machinery in the field.
During the ceremony, Beatriz highlighted the challenges and lessons learned throughout her journey in a historically male-dominated environment. “I chose to learn, face challenges, and show that ability, dedication, and responsibility have no gender. Working in this environment taught me that being a woman is not a weakness, but a strength. Each day at work represents courage and commitment. I am proud to be part of a group of women who are not afraid to occupy spaces and break down barriers.”
Eliene Melo, facilitator of the Usina Caeté Apprenticeship Program, highlighted the importance of the professional training offered by the company and the impact of the initiative on the inclusion of women in the sector. According to her, Beatriz’s journey symbolizes the success of the program and the retention of internally trained talent. “It is a source of great joy to witness this achievement. Beatriz is a product of our Apprenticeship program and represents so many other talented women who have completed the course and are now part of our workforce.”
The Municipal Secretary for Women and Human Rights, Quitéria Julião, also highlighted the importance of the tribute and the symbolism of the female presence in areas traditionally occupied by men. “It’s a more than deserved tribute. Having a woman operating heavy machinery demonstrates strength, leadership, and a breaking of paradigms. Usina Caeté is a great partner, and celebrating this moment alongside the company reinforces the importance of valuing the role of women in society.”
During the event, the Human Resources Manager of Usina Caeté, Marta Luciana Sampaio, highlighted the company’s pioneering role in including women in the operation of machinery in the state. “We were pioneers in Alagoas in including women in the operation of agricultural machinery. They faced prejudice to conquer their space, but today they are a benchmark within the company, presenting excellent results and receiving recognition like this.”
The tribute received by Beatriz reinforces her trajectory of overcoming challenges and dedication, and Usina Caeté’s commitment to training professionals and valuing the leading role of women in the bioenergy sector.
